What a wonderful, fun family they are! Nothing but smiles and happy, cute, cooperative kids. Not to mention their color scheme worked out perfectly! I love my job : )

The Morgans came back to Tahoe, escaping the Texas heat for a short time. I love seeing my families again and how the kids have grown!

From San Francisco we drove to Santa Cruz to stay with my friends Betsy and Raf, and little Becca. We went straight to the beach with kids and cameras; only for a bit, as we thought we’d come back Saturday or Sunday, but the weather turned and that didn’t happen. I will just have to go back soon! : )

My friend Betsy came through town and we met in Truckee to do a family shoot, and just a tad maternity. Daughter Becca is one of the cutest girls I have ever seen, no kidding, she’s too much! So we strolled around a bit looking for cool backdrops (and hot cocoa):

P.S.: A tip from Betsy: Don’t lather your belly in Vitamin E lotion and then put on the shirt you want to wear for the shoot right away, as it will soak up the lotion, and SOMEONE will have to retouch it… ; )
Martis Camp held their annual Winter Festival, complete with dog sleds and “fun” sleds. Shooting people flying down the hill with that huge smile on their face was a blast!! And the dogs, man, talk about high energy…

This session concluded Drayson’s first year documentary; it was a little past his actual birthday, but he got to have a cupcake nonetheless! It had been a while since I last saw him and I barely recognized him – he has changed sooo much, he’s walking and into everything.
Before the big messy cupcake we spent some time out front:

The sky wasn’t quite as blue as we’d hoped, but it didn’t rain like the day before! We went to Speedboat Beach, which was quite interesting as right on the other side of the fence someone was shooting generators! Yup, generators, product shots – they hauled them all the way down there, which we found quite amusing.
With the beach otherwise almost empty and the kids behaving surprisingly well, the shoot went very smoothly…

… and I spent a Wednesday morning at Zephyr Cove, which was gorgeous and nicely quiet, with hardly any people there – we had the whole little peninsula to ourselves. Better that way, as the family has quite a few members! And the kids could roam:
