I emergency second shot this wedding, as Nicole was unable to make it, and her second shooter Danielle Hankinson took over – it was a fabulous event, great people, happy people, fun people – and such a relaxed bride and groom, who had just undergone an appendectomy the Monday prior to the wedding! I think these two can make it through anything!


Danielle and I (and all the kids) were loving the parasols, and check out the sapphire rings which were the most beautiful bridesmaids gifts. And yes, 4 guys ended up in the lake…

My friends Will and Todd along with Antja played at the Cottonwood in Truckee last Wednesday, which was such a treat! Thanks for some great entertainment, Uncle Rïco!

My friend Jennifer dropped by with her kids, and while our boys played outside her and 6 week old Olivia chilled on the couch – of course I couldn’t resist, so here are some unscripted impressions…

This session concluded Drayson’s first year documentary; it was a little past his actual birthday, but he got to have a cupcake nonetheless! It had been a while since I last saw him and I barely recognized him – he has changed sooo much, he’s walking and into everything.
Before the big messy cupcake we spent some time out front:

Two raging wedding receptions in 3 days? Yup! This was a party with one crowded dance floor! The Indestructibles played danceable tune after danceable tune, and hardly anyone stayed in their seat.


Everything was so gorgeous, the bride, the necklace everyone commented on, the flowers (love that color!), the weather, the room decor – could have shot forever!

Wooooooowwwwww…. is the first word that comes to my mind when I think back to yesterday! Not only was it ridiculously gorgeous in the valley for portraits, but this was also by far the funnest wedding I have ever shot – look at these guys dance, and what a great crowd it was! Before dinner to Hebrew music, and Western style later – the bride even ended up cooling off her feet in an ice bucket! I was loving the atmosphere of celebration and happiness.


Jersey-girl Sherrin and Dan are now Truckee locals full of energy who love to ride bikes, surf and ski. Their families came from as far as Alaska and Israel to share this wonderful day with them. Sherrin’s mom, who is originally from Japan, handmade the canopy for the huppah.

Sherrin and Dan hosted a most delicious pizza welcome dinner, filled with lots of hugs and laughter, just the way it should be! What I couldn’t believe was to hear that they have the same birthday! That’s just too random… it MUST be good luck! Loved the environmentally conscious gift bags.


Here just a handful of impressions:

The sky wasn’t quite as blue as we’d hoped, but it didn’t rain like the day before! We went to Speedboat Beach, which was quite interesting as right on the other side of the fence someone was shooting generators! Yup, generators, product shots – they hauled them all the way down there, which we found quite amusing.

With the beach otherwise almost empty and the kids behaving surprisingly well, the shoot went very smoothly…

The Hyatt’s serene water garden was a beautiful backdrop for Jessica and Darrin’s portraits and ceremony; from there, it was lakeside dining with just incredible evening light! Everyone’s favorite part by far was the dancing – they had so much fun, I wanted to join in rather than shoot…
