I had the immense pleasure of shooting Stefanie and Mark’s wedding a couple of Saturdays ago – it was amazingly beautiful, with all the details just perfect! Remember the engagement? Mark took photos of the mountains above Incline Village from “their boulder”, and his sister Reeny made a water color painting from his photos to be printed on all the wedding stationery.

Their colors were rich and beautiful, culminating in a stunning bridal bouquet, centerpieces and arrangements by Tina with Lavish Floral Design. I loved the flowers, and they sure received a lot of ooohs and aaahs!

Stefanie was just gorgeous, mostly because of the huge smile she wore all day, emphasized by her Jasmine haute couture dress, which her adorable nieces helped her into; strutting her stuff in Ferragamo shoes, she was unstoppable and claimed a very (very very) happy Mark for herself in a meaningful, personalized ceremony at The Chateau.

Of course the food by Voila Catering was fabulicious, sweetened by the cake in a variety of flavors by Sarah with Flour Girl Wedding Cakes. With guests from not only all over the nation, but around the world – Germany, France, Greece, Israel, Brazil – the party was on with Tony Stead and All Star Juke Box who delivered a perfect mix of danceable rock to please the crowd.

All put together flawlessly by Kerry and Karin from Blue Sky Events, who were such a pleasure to work with! The only one who didn’t quite cooperate for this wedding was the weather – it was 32 degrees with snow flurries later in the day – at least we got some sun for the beach shots! Brrrrr – what a trooper Stefanie was!

Is it possible to have too many photos of one’s child? I can’t help it! I shoot Levi every chance I get, in my very biased opinion he is just too cute! I took him and our dog Lola to an aspen grove outside of Tahoe City; we were a little late for bright aspen colors, but couldn’t help it, had to go by the photo lab first. As to be expected with a dog and a 4-year old, there were a lot of toss-outs, but I just LOVE these… used my out-of-this-world portrait lens quite a bit, it produces such outstanding images!

Being that I’m so into photography, he wonders what the thrill is and likes to experiment as well – and yes, I was a little concerned about my camera there… especially since that is named lens!

… the CarrSicks wanted updated family photos at the same locations where we did photos in the spring, before Drayson was born and Stacey was hugely pregnant. We waited until the aspens had turned, and I couldn’t believe how tall the willows by the pond had gotten! By the way, this is the site of the 1893 Truckee ice palace. 

The mood is completely different from the last shoot; it was late in the day for warm light, which of course faded fast, but the aspens were beautifully aglow. My little supermodel Drayson was so not into photos that day! Though Ashlyn had a lot of fun; we tried to include their 2 Weimaraners in the family photos, but they were running around as if they had been caged up for a week! So we settled for some snapshots of them after we went back to the house. Their facial expressions are priceless!

My friends Kevin and Judith and myself had a great time strolling through downtown Truckee with my camera – who knew Truckee could be so cool? Well, I had an inkling.
They love the results, most of all that we came away with such a variety of styles; cute, happy, fun, hip, cool; as well as an array of backdrops – and these two were such naturals as models and easy to work with!
