Last week I had the pleasure of taking family photos for the Youngs. The trip to Tahoe was a surprise for Mom Donna, who celebrated her 60th birthday, as well as 30th wedding anniversary – that’s what I call a thoughtful gift! On top of it, daughter Kasia and Mark had just gotten engaged two days before the shoot!


We went to Sand Harbor, where the family had never been before, despite numerous vacations spent at the Lake. They loved the location, were a lot of fun to work with and definitely adventurous! I got them to scale rocks and even wade in the water for not-so-everyday family portraits!


You guys were awesome – thanks for letting me be part of it! Happy birthday Donna, and all the best to Kasia and Mark!

On a luckily not-so-hot June Sunday Andrea and John said their I-do’s at The Chateau in Incline Village. They had chosen some of the most beautiful details I have seen – from her stunningly elegant, simple dress to their timeless ring designs, to floral creations by Katina’s Sierra Floral Designs – check her out, she does the most fabulous flowers around! Cutting edge and classy.

Many toasts were said for Andrea and John, and just like friends and family I wish them many happy years to come! Thanks for having me, it was wonderful.

Congratulations Lara and Jay! I am so happy for them. Their big day was absolutely gorgeous, perfect weather, and Northstar was not only very accomodating, but also a surprisingly beautiful setting. The couple went above and beyond to personalize their wedding by hand making the ring pillows out of little grassy looking puffs, as well as - the truly unique arch!


Lara was stunning in a Casablanca gown (same style as worn by season two American Idol winner Ruben Stoddard’s wife). Artful flower arrangements and adornments for the arch by Candlelight and Roses, and a delicious cake by Deesigner Wedding Cakes.

Drayson came back last Friday – can’t believe it’s been a month! We kept it real simple this time, since dad wasn’t there for a any baby-on-arm-shots, and mom had to keep up with the older sister… look how much he has grown! The faces he makes are priceless.
We’ll be using the bear and crocodile every month to document growth, and try new things as he gets older and stronger. He loved the croc this time – layed him down on it and he went right to sleep!

I was asked to shoot family and candids for Cindy’s 50th birthday – at the Fairwinds! Wow, what a terrific location for a birthday bash. It was decorated most beautifully, and the guests couldn’t have had a better time! They sure know how to party…

I took family photos for the Oberlins a couple of weeks ago and just wanted to send a big ‘thanks’ to Nick for the daisies! So sweet!

It was fun working with everybody!

I had the honor of not only taking Drayson’s newborn photos, but also to design his birth announcements – here they are! And it’s almost been a month, he’s scheduled to come back next week!

… birthday, that is, not July! Though I really don’t want this blog to become too personal, I couldn’t just let my son’s birthday go by … he turned 4 on June 29 – which would be such a great opportunity for photos, too, if only I wasn’t the one running the show and thus not having time to shoot! While I’m not exactly a rodeo fan, I had free tickets to the first-ever Charreada (Mexican Rodeo) in Truckee yesterday, so I thought we’d check it out – besides, it was a photo op, so how could I pass that up! Here are some impressions:
