family photos on a windy day

My friends Heather and Brian moved to Seattle and wanted some Tahoe family photos before they left; the only day we had was a Sunday in early April. It was really windy, but at least sunny with lots of blue sky! We made it fun despite the chilly wind. Their son Van was only 6 weeks at the time, daughter Clementine almost 2, who first was all excited about the goose, but then, as it approached, not so sure… too cute!

glamour girls

Two girlfriends turning 5 – what a great excuse for a day at the salon! Jesse and Brooklyn’s birthday fest was so much fun for all the girls, they loved being styled and getting pretty. Who knew they could be so shy when it was time for the fashion show… the cake, however, didn’t stand a chance! A big thanks to the ladies at M studio in Incline Village for making it a success! And of course thank you, Elaine, for having me!

more baby and belly

Well, ok, so Ashlyn is not a baby any more, but it sounded good! I asked Stacey if I could come back by and get more shots of her belly and Ashlyn; not surprisingly, she loved that idea! So, here are some more of the two:

a family and a big belly

Last Wednesday I headed to Stacey and Dave’s house in Truckee, and from there we went to “their” spot by the river for family/maternity shots. Stacey is due at the end of this month! We took a very casual approach, which was good, considering Ashlyn wasn’t much into holding still or posing at 2 years old… she is super cute, and we got lots of great photos! More here.

Can’t wait to shoot the newborn!

WPPI

This was back in March, already almost two months ago, but what a great experience! WPPI is a HUGE trade show and conference for wedding and portrait photographers, with over 11,000 attendees this year. I learned so much, when my husband asked me, ’so, what did you learn?,’ I didn’t even know where to begin. Can’t wait for this wedding season to implement it all!

Almost overwhelming, the trade show offered seemingly endless information on products and companies out there, and I was confirmed in my choice of album supplier to be one of the best :)

Can’t wait to go back to Vegas for more brain food and eye candy next year!

Whew!

I have a blog – I was “anti-blog” for the longest time (who has time for that, really??), but finally was convinced it’s a good thing, and now I’m all excited! I think for the first few posts I will reflect on recent photo-related events, and of course post any current ones.

Here we go….
